June 2025 Classes
Classes will state if they are IN PERSON, VIRTUAL, or HYBRID. Hybrid classes will allow for both in person or remote attendance. You will receive the Zoom link with registration for virtual and hybrid classes.
Please keep vaccinations up-to-date for in-person attendance. At this time, masks are optional inside the classroom; please be mindful of our shared space. Hybrid and virtual classes include a class recording.
Sewing Skills: Zipper Pouch IN PERSON
June 1, 11 AM-2 PM, $45
Keep growing your sewing skills with a Boxed Zipper Bag! We'll learn to insert a zipper, use fusible interfacing, sew a bag lining, and create boxed corners. Students should be able to set up and thread a machine and sew straight seams while maintaining an accurate seam allowance.

Intro to Paper Patterns IN PERSON
June 13, 6-8 PM, $30
Looking to expand your sewing skills, but perplexed by paper patterns? Find your measurements, choose your size and learn what to do when you're between sizes, and decipher all the symbols and markings on your pattern! Bring any pattern you'd like to sew and get started on your next project! This class is perfect preparation for any of our garment sewing classes.

Learn to Crochet: Tiny Basket HYBRID CLASS
June 14, 10 am-12 pm, $30
Get started with the basics of crochet with a cute little basket! This beginner project will teach you to form a chain and single crochet stitch with increases. No experience necessary.

Knit Skills: Summer Saunter Tee IN PERSON
Sample knit by the instructor in Queen City Yarn Coleman, a silk + linen blend!
June 14 +21, July 5 + 12, and August 2 + 16, 1-3 pm pm, $180
Knit this classic drop-shoulder summer tee, even if you've never knit a sweater before! We'll cover basic sweater construction and fit, left- and right-leaning increases and decreases, German short-rows, picking up stitches, i-cord bind-off, and a folded hem finish. Students should be comfortable knitting in the round, and have experience working from a pattern.

Sew Your Own: Sauvie Sundress IN PERSON
June 15, 22, + 29, 11 am-2 pm, $135
Sew your own easy, breezy summer dress! We will choose our size, learn basic length and fit adjustments, as well as construction skills for bust darts, pockets, hems, and fusible interfacing. Students should be comfortable setting up their machine, maintaining a seam allowance, and have familiarity with sewing terms. We will cut our patterns and fabric in class. If you are using a PDF pattern, please come with your pattern pieces assembled.

The Sauvie Sundress pattern from Sew House Seven (Paper Copy or PDF available from the designer)
Light to midweight woven fabric for your size (Prewashed!)
1/4 yd fusible light to midweight interfacing (like ShapeFlex)
1.5" waistband elastic for views #3 + 4
A fresh machine needle suitable for your fabric
Thread to match (all-purpose)
Your working sewing machine (or rent one of ours)
You may want to bring your own basic sewing kit (fabric shears, clear ruler, tape measure, straight pins, seam gauge, seam ripper) but we do have shared tools available for use in the classroom.
English Paper Piecing IN PERSON
June 28, 11 am- 3 pm, $60
Learn the basic methods of English Paper Piecing (or EPP) including: glue basting, cutting, and folding 1 inch hexagons; attaching hexis to each other, and prepping your pieces for use in a larger project. You will also learn some tips and tricks about EPP throughout. No sewing experience required.
You will be sent home with a pattern and instructions for a basic e-reader sleeve.

Required Supplies:
- 5 fat quarters in coordinating prints
- Quilt batting measuring roughly 8” x 14”
- Sewline Glue Pen (or Purple Elmer’s Glue stick)
- Basic Sewing Kit (scissors, pins, marking tools) or use classroom supplies
- DecoBob Thread
- A thimble in your size (leather is preferable)
Provided by Instructor:
- 1 in hexagon pieces printed on Perfect Piecing paper (you may wish to buy your own Perfect Piecing paper as well)
Work In Progress Help IN PERSON
June 13, 20 + 27, 1-3 pm, $30
We've all got a Work In Progress that could use some help! Join instructor Amie Palmer most Fridays for assistance with your knitting or crochet projects. This is an ongoing group class for students who are starting, working on, or need help completing projects. If you have any questions about whether your project is appropriate for this class, please contact the shop with a description.
