Dive into sewing your own swimwear! The Cottesloe suit has a one or two-piece option and will grow your confidence sewing stretch fabrics. We will select our size, cut our fabrics, and make comfortable swimwear, no serger necessary. Students should have experience sewing garments from a pattern, and should be comfortable cutting fabric and setting up a machine. Experience with knits is helpful. You will need a machine with a zig-zag stitch.

We will cover choosing a size, finding your gauge, and basic construction techniques for bottom-up, drop-shoulder sweaters. We'll also cover a tubular cast-on, tricks for jogless stripes, and seaming, picking up stitches, and other finishing skills.

Learn the basic methods of English Paper Piecing (or EPP) including: glue basting, cutting, and folding 1 inch hexagons; attaching hexis to each other, and prepping your pieces for use in a larger project. You will also learn some tips and tricks about EPP throughout. No previous experience required! You will be sent home with a pattern and instructions for a basic e-reader sleeve.
