We will learn basic fit adjustments to size and length, and get lots of practice sewing darts, pockets, hems and topstitching, using fusible interfacing, and installing tack buttons and hardware. Students should be comfortable sewing independently by machine, maintaining a seam allowance, and have previous experience sewing garments from a pattern. We will cut our patterns and fabric together in class.

Learn the Cocoknits method for well-fitting knits! The Toni is a classic v-neck cardigan with lots of room for customization. We'll learn the Cocoknit sweater construction techniques, including seamless set-in sleeves, lifted increases, buttonbands/buttonholes, integrated pockets, bust darts as needed, and Judy Becker's Magic cast-on and Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind off. Students should have prior experience knitting from a pattern.

This session is for children ages 10-16.
Are you a kid who wants to sew and style your own clothes?? Let's get started! We'll sew a pair of simple shorts using a pattern, as well as scrunchies, headbands, and other accessories. We'll also mend and embellish items from your closet. All other fabric and supplies included. Students should have previous sewing experience.
