Shop Updates- June 2020

Where does the time go? Somehow it’s June and we’re still adapting to our new normal. I know many of you are disappointed, but we have no current plans to reopen the shop for in person shopping. Despite the easing restrictions on how businesses are allowed to operate, there is no indication that it is any safer to reopen now than it was three months ago. I would need to see a sustained and significant drop in infection and hospitalization rates due to Covid-19, and unfortunately, we are seeing the opposite here in North Carolina.

The good news is that the web shop continues to expand and more and more products are listed every week, making it even easier to browse at all hours and pick up your order, usually the same or next day. We are still shipping USPS as well, with free shipping on order over $50.

I am making some changes to our pickup window and store hours starting next week. After three months of this and only three days away from the shop, I am in need of more structured time away. The new hours will be Tuesday through Saturday, 12-5 PM. If you need to make alternate arrangements, please just email and I can usually adjust my schedule. This does mean that if you place an order after 3 or 4 pm on Saturday, you won’t be able to pick up until Tuesday.

I’m hoping making these changes will help me catch up on a backlog of emails (sorry!) start posting new arrivals to Facebook, maybe actually write a newsletter, and work on getting some remote classes together. Hard to imagine finding more hours in the day, but I’m working on it.

I’m grateful to Robin Berger for knitting this new shop sample of the Ginkgophyte sweater by Emily Greene in Queensland United, a blend of cotton and lambswool. It’s now proudly displayed in the front window. Thanks Robin!
