Learn how to reweave fabric over a hole or weakened area in a piece of knitwear or on a sock. Using just a few simple sewing skills and basic materials, students will be able to strengthen and reinforce fabric, while creating a visible or more subtle repair. Open to all levels; basic hand sewing skills are helpful. Understanding of knitting structure is useful for optional, more advanced knitwear repair techniques.
Instructor: Julia Gartrell
Materials:
Bring your socks or knitwear with holes and matching or contrasting darning thread/yarn (only if desired--- some materials available to use, but may not match). If you do not have anything with a hole but want to learn the technique, the skills can be practiced on a scrap piece of fabric.
Provided: Embroidery hoop and/or darning egg, pins, needles, scissors
