Sewing with Knits: Axis Tank IN PERSON

  • Freeman's Creative LLC 2020 Chapel Hill Road #25 Durham, NC, 27707 United States (map)

This ultimate layering piece is your chance to get comfortable sewing knit fabric on your standard machine! We'll learn skills for cutting and sewing stretchy fabric and applying binding as a finish. Students should be comfortable independently sewing by machine, maintaining seam allowance and have experience sewing garments from a pattern. We will cut out our pattern and fabric together in class.

Instructor: River Takada

Materials:

Axis Tank PDF pattern from Sophie Hines (print and tape your pattern pieces before class, or order large format from PDF Plotting)

Light to mid-weight stretch knit fabric for your size (1/2- 1 yd)

Ballpoint needle (70/10 or 80/12)

Matching polyester thread

We have all basic sewing supplies in the classroom, but you may want to bring your own sewing kit (scissors, pins, seam ripper, marking tools) for convenience.

Your sewing machine must be able to sew a zig zag stitch to work with knits.
