This class is for students in grades 9-12.

Learn sewing machine basics and how to work with a sewing pattern in this intro class! This class is also a great refresher if you have used a machine before but would like some more practice. You’ll learn about sewing tools, how to set up a machine, how to pick the right fabrics for your project and all about reading a pattern. Class project is a messenger bag / satchel, pattern included with the class. Supplies need to be purchased by the second class!

Materials:

-1/2 yard outer fabric ("bottom weight" like a canvas, denim, or twill)

-1/2 yard lining fabric (quilt weight)

-1/2 yard fusible fleece

- matching thread
