Classes will state if they are IN PERSON, VIRTUAL, or HYBRID. Hybrid classes will allow for both in person or remote attendance. You will receive the Zoom link with registration for virtual and hybrid classes.
Please keep vaccinations up-to-date for in-person attendance. At this time, masks are optional inside the classroom; please be mindful of our shared space. Hybrid and virtual classes include a class recording.
Sewing Sessions with Erin IN PERSON
July 6, 12-2 PM, $30
Ready to build your skills, try something new, or get out of the house & chat with other sewing folk? Join instructor Erin West for support & guidance in this 2-hour group sewing workshop. Bring a project, ask questions and brainstorm new ideas. Must be comfortable setting up a machine & working independently. Use of our classroom equipment included (machine, iron, scissors, etc) or BYO favorite tools.
Include your project info so the instructor can prepare to best help you.
Knit Skills: Toe-Up Socks HYBRID
July 12, 19, +26, 10 AM- 12PM, $90
Socks are an ideal summer project, and the Subtle Shades socks will build your sock skills with toe-up construction, a fun two-color stitch pattern, afterthought heels, and a stretchy sewn Italian bind-off. Students should confidently knit and purl in the round, and have experience working from a pattern.

Subtle Shades pattern (free PDF on Ravelry; email hello@freemanscreative.com if you are not able to access Ravelry)
(2) Colors of Fingering weight yarn, at least 200 yds (one with color changes is extra fun!)
US 1 (2.25 mm) needles (DPN or 32-40" circular)
At least 12" of waste yarn

Sewing with Knits: Zoey Tank + Dress IN PERSON
July 13 + 20, 11 am-2 pm, $90

This classic tank with three lengths is your chance to get comfortable sewing knit fabric! We'll learn skills for sewing stretchy fabric, binding and narrow straps, and general fit and length adjustments. Students should be comfortable independently sewing by machine, maintaining seam allowance and experience sewing garments from a pattern. We will cut out our pattern and fabric together in class.

Zoey Tank + Dress pattern from True Bias
Light to mid-weight stretch knit fabric for your size
Ballpoint needle (70/10 or 80/12)
Matching polyester thread
Optional knit tape
We have all basic sewing supplies in the classroom, but you may want to bring your own sewing kit (scissors, pins, seam ripper, marking tools) for convenience.
Your sewing machine must be able to sew a zig zag stitch to work with knits.
Knit Skills: The Cocoknits Toni Cardigan HYBRID

July 19, 26, August 9, 23, September 6, 27, October 4, 1-3 PM, $210
Learn the Cocoknits method for well-fitting knits! The Toni is a classic v-neck cardigan with lots of room for customization. We'll learn the Cocoknit sweater construction techniques, including seamless set-in sleeves, lifted increases, buttonbands/buttonholes, integrated pockets, bust darts as needed, and Judy Becker's Magic cast-on and Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind off. Students should have prior experience knitting from a pattern.

Learn to Sew: Tool Roll IN PERSON
July 27, 11 am-2 pm, $45
Customized pockets for anything you want to store!
In this class, students will learn all the basic steps to sewing by machine, including how to set up the machine, adjust the settings, change a needle, wind a bobbin, and sew straight lines. Students will sew a tool roll that can be customized to hold anything from knitting needles or clay tools to pens and pencils.

Required Materials:
Your working sewing machine, and any accessories and manual (or rent one of ours)
2 Fat Quarters, or a half yard of quilting cotton (fabric does not need to be prewashed)
A fresh Universal 80/12 machine needle

We've all got a Work In Progress that could use some help! Join instructor Amie Palmer most Fridays for assistance with your knitting or crochet projects. This is an ongoing group class for students who are starting, working on, or need help completing projects.
