Classes will state if they are IN PERSON, VIRTUAL, or HYBRID. Hybrid classes will allow for both in person or remote attendance. You will receive the Zoom link with registration for hybrid classes. Hybrid classes include a class recording.
Sew Your Own: Square Neck Top IN PERSON
October 5 + 19, 11 AM -2 PM, $90
The Square Neck Top from Friday Pattern Company is a wardrobe basic that's a great introduction to sewing garments! We'll choose our size, cut our fabric, and sew our seams. We'll learn to sew darts, facings, hems and fit adjustments. Students should be comfortable independently setting up and sewing by machine and understand basic pattern and sewing terms.

We will be using WOVEN fabric for this class
Prewashed fabric yardage for your measurements (light to mid-weight cotton, linen, or similar fabric with some drape) (1.5-2 Yards)

Fresh machine needle (80/12 or 70/10)
We have all basic sewing supplies in the classroom, but you may want to bring your own sewing kit (scissors, pins, seam ripper, marking tools) for convenience.
Knitting in the Round: Jeweled Beanie
October 10, 24, + 31, 3:30-5:30 PM, $90
You know how to knit and purl, so let's move from flat squares to knitting in the round. Knit your first hat and learn skills for all sorts of future projects. We will cover knitting in the round, decreasing, reading charts, and finishing techniques. Students should be able to cast-on, knit, and purl.

Mending Skills: Visible Mending IN PERSON
October 12, 11 AM - 2 PM, $45
Learn how to reinforce and strengthen ripped or threadbare fabric with personalized flair, inspired by the tradition of Japanese Sashiko stitching. Using just a few simple sewing skills and basic materials, students will explore visible patching techniques. Open to all levels; basic hand sewing skills are helpful.

Materials:
Bring your shirts, jeans, bags, or any fabric item with a hole or weak area, and any fun scrap fabric and thread or embroidery floss you'd like to use. If you do not have anything with a hole but want to learn the technique, the skills can be practiced on a scrap piece of fabric.
Provided: Embroidery hoop, pins, needles, scissors; assorted scrap fabric and thread will be on hand
Sewing Sessions w/ Erin IN PERSON
October 18, 11 AM- 1 PM, $30
Ready to build your skills, try something new, or get out of the house & chat with other sewing folk? Join instructor Erin West for support & guidance in this 2-hour group sewing workshop. Bring a project, ask questions and brainstorm new ideas. Must be comfortable setting up a machine & working independently. Use of our classroom equipment included (machine, iron, scissors, etc) or BYO favorite tools.
Include your project info so the instructor can prepare to best help you.
Sew Your Own: Magic Pants IN PERSON
October 25 + 26, 12-5 PM, $150
Make Magic in a weekend! The Magic Pants are uniquely designed trousers with polished style and hidden comfort. We'll learn basic pants construction as well as installing the concealed elastic waistband, pocket bags, and strap hardware. Students should have some experience sewing from a pattern. Students should cut their fabric in advance of the class.

Materials:
Pattern for the Magic Pants from Ann Tilley (expanded size range available from 34-66" hip measurement)
2.5-3 yds of light to midweight woven fabric
1/2 yd lightweight fabric such as quilting cotton for pocket bags OR use main fabric
1/4 yd midweight interfacing such as SF101
Coordinating thread
Sewing Machine (or rent a classroom machine)
Basic Sewing Kit (scissors, pins, marking tools) or use classroom supplies
-Pre-wash + cut-out fabric for pants and pocket pieces (you can wait to cut out the little facing + strap pieces)
-If you have sizing questions, go by your hip measurement as other areas have adjustable fit.
-All notions will be provided (ribbing, D-rings, elastic, twill tape, snaps) but students are welcome to bring additional or alternative options.
Work In Progress Help IN PERSON
October 10, 24, or 31, 1-3 pm, $30
We've all got a Work In Progress that could use some help! Join instructor Amie Palmer most Fridays for assistance with your knitting or crochet projects. This is an ongoing group class for students who are starting, working on, or need help completing projects. If you have any questions about whether your project is appropriate for this class, please contact the shop with a description.
