Classes will state if they are IN PERSON, VIRTUAL, or HYBRID. Hybrid classes will allow for both in person or remote attendance. You will receive the Zoom link with registration for hybrid classes. Hybrid classes include a class recording.
Crochet Skills: Granny Bucket Hat HYBRID
May 2 + 9 + 30, 3:30 - 5:30 PM, $102
Granny squares are everywhere! Let's make them into a summery bucket hat! We'll practice single + double crochet, and learn seaming and finishing techniques, like the crab stitch hem. Students should be comfortable working single crochet in the round.

4 colors of sport to DK weight yarn, ~150 yd each (cotton is ideal)
4.5 mm/US 7 hook
Sport weight yarn like Alba and a Sz 7 hook will make a smaller adult or child's hat
DK weight yarn like Pandamonium and a Sz H hook will make an Adult Medium hat

Sewing Sessions with Erin IN PERSON
May 3, 11 AM - 1 PM, $34
Ready to build your skills, try something new, or get out of the house & chat with other sewing folk? Join instructor Erin West for support & guidance in this 2-hour group sewing workshop. Bring a project, ask questions and brainstorm new ideas. Must be comfortable setting up a machine & working independently. Use of our classroom equipment included (machine, iron, scissors, etc) or BYO favorite tools.
Include your project info so the instructor can prepare to best help you.
Knitting in the Round: Jeweled Beanie (Weekday) HYBRID
May 8 + 15 + 29, 3:30 - 5:30 PM, $102
You know how to knit and purl, so let's move from flat squares to knitting in the round. Knit your first hat and learn skills for all sorts of future projects. We will cover knitting in the round, decreasing, reading charts, and finishing techniques. Students should be able to cast-on, knit, and purl.

Sewing Skills: Lifting a Pattern IN PERSON
May 17, 11 AM - 2 PM, $51
Learn to make a pattern from your favorite ready-to-wear garment! We'll learn how to accurately trace garment seams and other details using a pounce wheel, add seam allowances, and create a pattern you can use over and over to duplicate your favorite garments. Students should have previous experience sewing garments from a pattern.

Materials:
Bring 2-3 simple garments to trace, such as knit or woven pullover tops, pull-on pants/shorts/skirts (no buttons or zippers)
We have all basic sewing supplies in the classroom, but you may want to bring your own sewing kit for convenience. We will be using tracing paper and tracing wheels.
Learn to Sew: Tool Roll IN PERSON
May 24, 11 AM - 2 PM, $51
In this class, students will learn all the basic steps to sewing by machine, including how to set up the machine, adjust the settings, change a needle, wind a bobbin, and sew straight lines. Students will sew a tool roll that can be customized to hold anything from knitting needles or clay tools to pens and pencils.

Your working sewing machine, and any accessories and manual (or rent one of ours)
2 Fat Quarters, or a half yard of quilting cotton (fabric does not need to be prewashed)
A fresh Universal 80/12 machine needle

Knit Skills: The Cloudbreak Tee (Session 2) HYBRID
May 30 + June 6 + 13 + 27 + July 25 + August 1 + 8, 10 AM - 12 PM, $238
This sweet summer tee is a perfect warm weather knit! We'll cover basic sweater construction, sizing and fit, increases and decreases, reading lace charts, and picking up stitches. This pattern is jam-packed with technique, but still accessible for students who can confidently knit and purl in the round, and have previous experience knitting from a pattern.

Sewing Skills: Zipper Pouch IN PERSON
May 31, 11 AM - 2 PM, $51
Keep growing your sewing skills with a Boxed Zipper Bag! We'll learn to insert a zipper, use fusible interfacing, sew a bag lining, and create boxed corners. Students should be able to set up and thread a machine and sew straight seams while maintaining an accurate seam allowance.

Work In Progress Help IN PERSON

We've all got a Work In Progress that could use some help! Join instructor Amie Palmer most Fridays for assistance with your knitting or crochet projects. This is an ongoing group class for students who are starting, working on, or need help completing projects.
